Strong Mind - Strong Body, Inc. Grocery Delivery Brigade

The Strong Mind – Strong Body, Inc. Grocery Delivery Brigade was a nine-week food distribution initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable senior citizens residing at Ft. Lincoln Vicksburg Senior Village #2 in Washington, D.C. The project was initiated on October 4th, 2020, and concluded on November 29th, 2020, with weekly food deliveries.

The Grocery Delivery Brigade provided an excellent opportunity for returning citizens to give back to the Ward 5, Ft. Lincoln neighborhood. Our dedicated volunteers packaged and distributed grocery bags containing a range of essential items, including a freshly baked rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, fruit, and farm-fresh produce.

Testimonials
As director of the WOW Program, an EMMC pediatric weight management program; SM-SB, Inc. has been a valuable resource for our patients. My patients who have been involved feel the program was extremely positive and well rounded. I hope this program can grow and reach even more youth in our state.”
Valerie O’Hara: Director, Way to Optimal Weight
On behalf of New Beginning Temporary Family Shelter, I would like to thank you for your donation of the much needed masks during this COVID-19 pandemic. They are so appreciated and helps this organization achieve its mission, which is to help our clients/families stay covered with the PPE that keeps them safe and protected. The families we serve are in various crises and in need of generous individuals like you."
Willie D. Moore,
National Center for Children and Families (NCCF)
To say I am impressed with SM-SB, Inc. does not begin to touch my appreciation for what they have done with this endeavor. Two of the participants attend the school where I teach, and play on the team I coach. Over the past two years both boys have become more responsible about class work, are more involved, take chances where they might fail, and both have goals to attend college. I work with them every school day and see they have an advantage over other students socially and athletically. I believe this is because they experienced SM-SB, Inc.”

My daughter, Landen, attended the SMSB camp this past weekend. Not only did she have an amazingly fun time, she also met some new friends and learned some new things. She had wonderful things to say about the counselors and the way the camp was organized. It was truly a wonderful experience for her and I'm very thankful we were able to send her. Thanks again for making this happen for the kids in this area - it is a wonderful program and we will spread the word to others about it!"
